The Basement is awaiting concrete!!

Phil taking it all in!! He has really enjoyed watching the house go up and progress they are making!

The basement walls are up and they are awating concrete. The concrete will go in on Monday, May 4th. Then the trusses will soon arrive for the next layer to go on the house. It is moving along quickly and makes for an exciting start to spring and the end of the school year! We look forward to all of you seeing the progress or finished product.

The Footings Are Poured!

The basement rock came on April 23rd with the cement being poured on the hottest day yet this year..88 degrees...April 24th! They worked hard and got it finished before the rain came during the weekend. Wow...3 loads of rock in the house.

The Basement is dug!

The basement was dug on Wednesday, April 22nd. Addison and I were able to stand in the dug basement in the late afternoon. It only took one day to change the whole look of the prairie. Wow, how it has changed!

The First Scoops

These are the first scoops for our new home. Addison got to help us! The house has progressed a lot and keep looking back for new updates.

A New Beginning!

It is late Tuesday evening....I received a phone call at 6:45am this morning from Ed Christopher that the basement for our home was going to begin on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009! How exciting! Tonight, the three of us, went to the property to take pictures and dig up dirt! We took the first scoop of dirt, Addison even helped out! We popped a bottle of Sparkling Grape Juice, so Addison could drink to the start of our new house with us! It was extra windy today but we are really excited for the "huge" project to begin! Look back for pictures!
Addison and Chris will be there on Wednesday as Ed and Ben make the first big digs for the house! (I wish I could be there, but the students need me at school!)

The ICF Blocks being moved in!

These are the pictures of the ICF Block coming off the semi. These are ready to stack and get some concrete placed in them. This is what the exterior of our walls will be. It is really exciting!! Chris had his dad, Sargent, and another patrol officer helping him that day! Thanks for the help guys, we appreciate it!
